I read a quote somewhere, wrote it down in my journal, but I have no idea where it came from. It said, “Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.”
I’ve always been one to notice. Notice odd things like if two cars turn signals are in sync at a red light or if a person bites their lip while I’m talking to them or the movement of someones hands. I’ve always been grateful that part of who I am is to notice.
And now, as a mother, I’m even more grateful. Because it’s those little details in life with my children that I don’t ever want to forget.
Like how Emma’s hands gently cradles each strawberry that she picks.
And the shape of Eli and Emma’s eye brows when they are really concentrating on something.
And their high-pitched giggles as they play outside.
And the first tomato of the season. Perfect and red and round.
